Ive read a few posts, so hope im not being too dumb by asking this, let me write it as i think it is and you guys can correct me if im wrong
1. Have UO installed? 2. Patch UO with PF file/download? 3. Have Razor installed? 4. Enter correct data into Razor? 5. Play?
Is that the correct order to do things? (and the right things to do?) Sorry but i have never used Razor, and i half expected to make a forum login first, then get details to get into server, but this is other way round if im right? My other UO private server doesnt use razor What, if any, problems will i have if my UO client is patched up to the main UO most recent patch? (i used the 14 day trial of their most recent official download - well recent back in august 09) Also will the PF patch stop any other private server versions of UO from working correctly?

We don't have a PF patch file to be installed. What we install and you might be thinking are PF files are the hues files. If you don't have them installed, only some colors will look a little funny, like a lot of little dots of different colors one over the other, but you will be able to play with no issue and you will be able to log in in any other shard working with the regular version of the game. In order to Razor work you need to have installed the Net Framework too. I know very little about installing, but I hope this 2 help you.

Thanks for the reply What i meant by the PF patch was this post i found Im still more concerned that my UO client is patched later than required for here, does this mean i should uninstall and reinstall and stop the patcher at the precise point of um.. client 5.0.9.1? And just as importantly will razor or the PF hues file interfere in any way with say the official UO or other private versions of it? I really need to know these 2 things before i will attempt to install and run razor for PF On the upside my other server did require the net framework, so at least that bit is done

Not dumb questions, but something you do need First, if you're overpatched as you believe you are, or even underpatched and unable to patch higher, this is the correct download patch to play on Paradise Found: burchkc.com/Paradise/uo.rar. Do not delete your current UO folder or contents. Download the above file and extract it. You will find a folder inside named 9th Anniversary. Copy all the files inside 9th Anniversary and move them to the primary UO folder so it will begin asking you "There is already a file named xxxxx. Do you want to overwrite this file?" and you click Yes to All (make life easy on yourself and let it do all of them at once). If you do not get that message immediately, then it's putting your files somewhere else. Hit Cancel, and try extracting again. A common problem with extracting files is that it creates a new folder inside the folder and that is not what you want it to do. If you absolutely cannot get it to overwrite the files, or you need to keep your current patch for some other reason, then create a new folder on your desktop. Name it Paradise. Extract all the files from this download into the new Paradise folder. Simple so far. Now, bring up Razor as you normally do. In the first line on top where it says LoadClient: You're going to Browse and find the Paradise folder, and inside the 9th Anniversary folder, click on client.exe. That first box should now say: LoadClient: C:\Paradise\9th Anniversary\client.exe. Next step is to locate the Data Directory (middle section). Browse on that line, locate the Paradise folder. You don't need to point it inside, only to the main folder to look in. Last, go down to the line that says Server: and put in paradiseuo.com and Port: 2593 LoadClient: Paradise\9th Anniversary\Client.exe Patch Client Encryption: (checked) Use OSI Encryption: (do not check) Use Data Directory: Paradise Server: paradiseuo.com Port: 2593 Language: (this is your choice) Now start the game. You should be all patched. If you want your game to default on the Paradise folder, you can set it to Make These Settings Default under the Load Client line. Then all you need to do is make sure that it says Paradise and the server and port are correct when it brings it up. Click OK, and you're in Paradise

Yes you are right, we do need to patch; and it is up to the right release of the game, that is 5.0.9.1. What I intended to say is that we don't need any special client patch that will prevent you from log in another shard. Now about the hue files I do think they will mess up in another shard. If you are willing to try Paradise with some funny colors and your previous shard works with our version of the game you can use just 1 installation. If the game is over patched at Paradise you will not see some stuff, so a version 6 or up will not work. About razor, to use it for both shards you have to remember to change the settings in the start gump, that is easy to do, just boring. And if you don't want to use it you can log the way you are used to and it will not interfere.

Thank you both Ive got it working, at least to char creation so far, i just need to find the perfect time to play now, only have a few mins spare at time of writing this, so will be later As far as my other uo shard is concerned, tbh i don't play it much, i'm currently torn between 3 or 4 games, and in process of moving house, so my time is spread very thin, but in a few weeks i'll have more time again, and will then decide which games will be my full time ones My other uo shard doesnt even allow us to mention Razor, let alone use it, but theyre great folks there and that is why i still drop in from time to time, not to play, just to see them Anyway to recap, seem to have it working, so will see some of you ingame soon, now the hardest part... deciding which of the hundred names ive used over the years will be my name here...

My issue is that although I was able to log on for a moment last night, now I'm getting a message at the login screen stating my account credentials are invalid and can't get logged in! Is there a way to recover or reset my user name and password? Halp!

another solution if you want to play different UO shards;
you can have several UO games on your computer at the same time and all different patch clients.
1) make your orginal patch all the way and use it for when you play shards that need it. c:programfiles/eagames
2) for each different shard you want to play, make a new folder in c: programfiles. example a folder called Paradise.
- install another version of UO into this folder. then go into that folder and use the uopatch and stop patch where you need to.
3) when you open razor to play; at the top and middle.. you can browse in your computer and point to the UO folder you wish to play on that instance of razor.
i sometimes play 3 shards at the same time, all different patches.

Aislenn, contact me with a private message (should be available to you here). To the left of this reply look for the PM icon and click it. Once there, send me a request and I'll send back with your credentials (account name and password). The only other reason you may not be able to log in is if you have patched too high. The latest versions don't even allow for a login with our low client version. The highest patch you should have is 5.0.9.1. When you first start Razor and get the login screen, look beneath where you type your password. This will tell you the client version and patch you are using. If it is way over 6.0.0.0, when you PM me, let me know that and I'll help you get the lower patch. Good luck and hope to see you back in Paradise soon.

Damara, I'm sorry but I don't see the ''pm'' option My forum account is pending in-game approval, but I can't get in game because I don't know the password I entered at account creation (I wrote it down wrong, I think)... augh!!! I am patched to the right extent, at least

Since your character is brand new, I will delete the entire account and let you begin again. You won't lose anything. I cannot put private information here on the forum, like your account name and password. The only idea I can think of is to erase all of it and let you start fresh. Please try to create a new account with a new password. Do not use the same account name as before. You can still name your character Siobhan if you would like to, but not with the same account name.
When you successfully create a new character in the game, then you can register here by the same character name. It is very important that this name and your character name is the same. Not your character and account name. JUST the character's name. If your character is named Ivana and your account name is Diamond, do not create a forum account named Ivana Diamond (lol, I Want A Diamond... get it? bah, bad joke, bad Damara).
You should never tell anyone what your account name is and don't use it as a displayed name for someone else to use. This is good advice for everyone. Keep your account name a secret and don't let anyone else know what it is. Don't talk about it, don't mention it, don't give it out.

Dagnabit. Maybe it's just not meant to be, I still can't get logged in. I get ''there is some problem communicating with origin'' or ''your credentials are invalid'' still. Alas, poor Paradise! I knew it briefly, Horatio....
