I feel the talismans that provide + skill should go over cap. To my knowledge the only item that currently does is the Cloak of Sir Kenshin.
For example, You are at your cap of GM Taming. You equip the Library Talisman with +5 taming. Now you are 105 Taming.

Probably works like jewelry and some weapon/shields.
I wonder if the talismen that have +% go past cap? I think they do.

Oh yes, they do work like jewelry. I'm suggesting they go over cap. It takes a ton of resources for something that's practically worthless because it dosent.
From what iv read the +% does go over cap. Yes. Say you did have a 50% success with a +20 now you have 70%. If you had a 90% with +20 you now have 100% success.

I thought the bonus in % were adding points to your skill?
Like i have 120 inscription with a 13% incription bonus, wouldn't that make my inscription 135?

Actually I think it might work a % of whatever you skill is.
Ex. someone with 100 Blacksmithing with a 14% talisman would mean 14% of 100 is added to your skill.
So if the number was say 120 with a 20% talisman it would add 24 to your skill.

The % Bonus on Talisman doesn't add anything to your skill. It adds to the chance % to craft the item and/or craft it exceptional if it has the excpetional %. Only +skill adds to the skill. % adds to the success chance to craft something. However, it will not add that % if your chance to craft the item is 0% or the exceptional chance is 0%. You guys totally hijacked my thread....
This conversation should be if the + skill ones should go over cap..
Not the + % ones.

Sorry for posting off-topic
I don't think the talisman bonus should go over cap. We already have the Tamers Trinket that can give up to +8 over skillcap. We have gloves and tools for pretty much all crafts and we have Sir Kenshin's Cloak for extra +15 Healing, Swordsmanship and Peacemaking.
I don't think it's a good idea if you could "stack" several skill-over-cap items like for example trinket+talisman, etc

i have no problem myself with talisman going over skill cap. but i think if you wearing 2 items that both go over skill cap the highest one of the 2 should be used and the second item not used. i do beleave however talisman should be allowed because tamers trinket takes up a armour slot and not a talisman slot. just dont beleave in stacking items
