I have been running Paradise Found for 3.5 years now. We have had players from all over the world come here to play. And more native languages than I can count. Please keep in mind when talking to each other that different languages do not always translate correctly.
An example: Someone may want to say "You should do this". Their translator or translation comes out in English as "You must do this". The intention was to suggest "should". The translation comes out as a demand "must". In a case like this, it can be taken wrong as pushy or arrogant or bossy and offense can be taken when the intent was merely to suggest.
This can be the case with staff too. Draque's native language is Czech. Marie-Ange and Botnick is French. Haazen is moron. Still have not figured out Orelinde. ;D
Please look for the positive first when talking to people. Try not to look for negative. I believe in most cases, intentions are positive regardless of the actual words. (Am I being naive?) If someone is here to just cause problems, it becomes obvious very soon. Not based on just one or two words in a single conversation.
Please be positive and try to see messages and conversations in that light. And our language differences should not be an issue on false translations.
