I am running latest version of Razor 1.0.11. I have noticed since it updated that I loose connection a lot and have a lot of LAG spikes. And being right next to the server, I rarely get lag spikes.
Looking through the new options on the new Razor, I noticed under Options at the bottom is 'Negotiate features with server' I do not know what this is but I shut it off today and have not lost connection at all and no lag spikes.
You can try to turn it off also and see if it affect your own performance.
And if anyone knows what that option is supposed to be for. Please tell us.

I've researched RunUO and Razor postings for the answer to what that function does, Haazen. The new update for Razor, which runs on the RunUO base-scripting, allows Razor to constantly parse the server to check your position, any MOBs or incoming players, and graphics that are now animated (KR versions). With the constant parsing back and forth, it creates a steady stream of information constantly bombarding the server. With a single person using the function, we wouldn't necessarily see any difference between what we had before the upgrade and what we have now. However, with 90% of our players using Razor, and each one has a steady stream of information being transmitted and received, it creates a kind of bottleneck with the server. An easy way of explaining it is: One person asking someone for directions isn't bad. When 25 people all ask for different directions at the same time, the "server" isn't able to deliver instant answers to everyone, so someone has to wait their turn. Waiting their turn means the next set of questions is delayed, and the set after that delayed even more. Eventually, everyone is getting a wait and that's when we see our characters take several steps, pause, step, pause. Or we can't get the gump to heal, or cast spells. How to stop this: On your Razor box, click on the Options box, Look at the very bottom on the right. It says: Negotiate features with shard. Uncheck that. Log out, close Razor completely down. Then return. Once everyone is doing their part to reduce lag, we'll all be happy again.... we hope Good luck gaming, and hope this helps explain why we all need to work together to reduce the lag.

I also "unchecked" the offending box in my Razor and I also have noticed an improvement.
I think we should create some form of ingame message that reminds people when they Log In to our world that they should do themselves and everyone else a favour by turning it off on their Razor too.
Cheers!

I posted this elsewhere, since I hadn't seen this post yet, but I have a way to keep Razor at 1.0.10. I wrote an app that disables Razor's update (by making it think that it just updated by modifying is last updated setting in the registry.) I can try to make it available (along with the install for 1.0.10) if people are interested.

I never lagged too much before, but I've noticed I don't lag as often with that option off.
