I have addressed this subject before but I feel a need to address it again.
Lost items: Items do not simply dissapear. Items do not just vanish.
There are only a limited number of ways that an items can go away. None of which are magic or a fluke or a bug.
Any item that is blessed and in the root of the backpack, will NOT dissapear. Yes, if a blessed item is in a regular container in your backpack can be looted by a critter or go away if your corpse decays. But blessed items in the root of a backpack or being worn at the time of death does not just dissapear. There is another way a blessed item can dissapear. If your backpack is full, meaning 125 items, then when you die, there is no way for an extra item, blessed or not to be put in there. So if you have the habit of carrying around 125 items in your backpack or over 400 stones in weight, you are asking to loose items, blessed or not.
Items dissapearing from your house. If an item is locked down or in a secure container, it will not dissapear. A locked down item can seem to be missing. There have been many times that an item was on the same Z plane as another item and appeared to be missing. In reality, it's just that the other item on the same Z plane is the one being seen. The apparent missing items is there but just not being seen at the time. Example, using your yard tool, place a tile of grass. Then place a flower in the same spot. They are both in the same Z possition. You may see one or the other at different times. Using the interior deco tool, you can raise the flower up 1 clck and now the grass and flower are in different Z possitions and you will see them both. The same type of thing has happened with other items. The items are there, just not being seen because something else is in the same spot. Other items that have dissapeared in a house, had to be un secured. Either the item was moved and not resecured or was unsecured by accident while tring to release something else. Again I say, things do not just dissapear.
Another thng I have seen happen. A piece of armor or weapon. they are blessed or insured and dissapeared. What happened in these cases, the item just plain worn out. The owner did not pay attention to the duribility of the item and just worn it out copletely.
There is no eveidence that items dissapear. If something did not load from the save, it would be a massive error, not just one item.
