Have you ever lived in a haunted house? I have, and lemme tell you, it can be a nerve-racking experience. I have lived in some of the worst locations in my home town. Seen objects move on their own, full body apparitions, heard sounds and voices. If this is happening to you, and you don't know what to do, maybe I could help.

I lived in a haunted house, and worse yet I slept in the section that was actually haunted. I'd hear someone walking around the hall all night, sometimes you'd hear whispering right outside the door. One time I heard this really loud, just evil sounding laugh when I was alone in the house. But thats about it. Though everyone did comment they didn't like being in the front of the house (the original section) and no matter how many lights you turned on up there, it was always dark.

Sounds alot like the first house I remember living in. I used to sleep in the smallest room. Well there would be nights when everyone would be in bed. I know because I would check. Well... I'd hear voices in the basement coming up through the laundry chute. Also one night I was sitting all alone in the living room watching television. I kept hearing what sounded like footsteps on the stairway and in the other room to my right. I have a very sensitive right ear, so those noises sounded rather loud. So I muted the television and listened, and the footsteps sounded like they were walking toward me. When I looked into the other room a man was standing there. I stood up to confront the intruder and just as I turned on the lights to that room he was gone.

Just last week I was going to bed, and just as I fell asleep I heard a loud bang, and something fell on my leg and bounced off onto a box, making more racket. When I looked around there was a large black shadow standing right beside my bed. I didn't freak out though... I've been dealing with this sorta stuff my entire life. I shouted at it to leave me alone and let me sleep. The shadow faded back and faded away. Didn't have any more problems that night.

Last night was a riot. I kept seeing shadows moving around my room, and I started a bit of a fight with them. As a result they woke me just as I fell asleep. I heard a voice in my ear say: "we will never leave." Because I was trying to get them to leave. Then I heard a loud banging, and when I opened my eyes I saw a bright light on my ceiling making rings. It faded away and I felt my bed shutter for almost two minutes. At first I thought it was just another earthquake, but I asked some people who were up last night if they felt it, and nothing. I also saw shadows circling around on the ceiling. This is unusual because even when a car goes by outside all I see is a couple bright spots on the wall, never on the ceiling. I also saw a very dark shadow appear at the foot of my bed right as the shaking stopped; which went away very quickly. I asked them politely to leave me be, and they went away.
I'm still not scared, and I'm afraid that is what is upsetting them the most. They seem to be trying to get a rise out of me, but it isn't working. Here soon I may just have to call in a priest or a psychic... probably the psychic first and the priest if the problem isn't resolved.

Please, don't make me be the only one to share, I'd love to hear any stories you have. I'm also very fond of offering any theories as to what it may be. Thanks Sigmund for the reply earlier, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's ran into the paranormal. Seems I run into it a little too often though.

My wife says she lived in a house that was buried on indian grounds...Things would go missing and eventually the house caught fire. I myself have never had anything happen, may be because im not a real big believer in ghosts.

Well, you may not be a believer, but that doesn't mean they don't try to get your attention. Could just be that you write it off to normal occurrences, or you just don't notice. I do believe if you stayed at the Stanly Hotel in room 317 you may have a bit of a jolt of belief.

Its actually room 217 from the Shining :-)
But the most haunted level the say is the 4th floor, although they arent evil like in the book or movie.
I would stay there...Im not saying I refuse to believe in them, I just never have had a reason to :-)

When I lived in New Mexico, we had a house and had a roomate staying with us. One day my wife and I went out to dinner or something, the roomate was not home and had not been home all day.
When we got back to the house and walked in, I heard water running, so I started checking the house. Turned out to be the guest bathroom bathtub, it was on full blast hot water and the lights were on. I called my roomate to ask if he had been home that evening and he said no. I know we did not leave any lights on or water running. I check this kind of thing when I leave my house, I forget alot and have tried to make a habit of checking everything before I leave.
The next night I went to work, i worked night shifts 6pm to 6am, and received a call from my wife. She was scared and could not sleep. She had been hearing footsteps and little children voices coming from our attic. I forgot what she told me they were saying, but it was freeking her out. The next day she goes into the garage to get us some pizza rolls from the freezer, and half of one of the bags is gone. Our roomate had still not been home, he was at a friends house this whole time.
I forgot to mention that when we moved in there used to be a piece of sheetrock in the square hole on the ceiling of the garage to get into the attic, about a week after we moved in it went missing.
I went next door and asked our neighbor if i could borrow his 9mm, and after some joking about being fed up with the wife I told him what had been happening and that i wanted to check out my attic with some protection on me. he let me borrow it, so I got a flashlight and holding it how I see tv cops do i crawled into the tiny attic (I am 6' and 250lbs.). I check all over, all corners, and heard noone moving and saw nothing.
We called my mother-in-law and started praying with her and annointed all rooms in our house with oil from our church. From then on the only other scare i received was when I woke up in the middle of the night a few weeks later and knew something felt wrong. I opened my eyes and look at the ceiling. Two glowing eyes were staring at me from the air vent! My heart jumped higher than olympian! I looked a little closer and found the culprit to be our small cat Mischief. She crawled into the attic, pulled back the air duct and walked over to our room.
Now I know you think she could have been the one in the story before, but I do not think she can talk.

Yep, this sort of stuff is an average occurrence at my house. I'm glad you sought a way to release those spirits that were troubling you. I never tried to remove them myself, except earlier this week. I don't think I'll be trying that again without a priest.

Hello Loki sorry I did not see this thread but I will share my story here and lets all bury the one I started and just do this one :-) heres my story.
Does anyone have a ghost story? I would love to hear them.
This actually happened to me. Back in 87' I was a junior in high school, ya I know I am old get over it. My friend Paul lived with his Mom and Uncle and they were always gone doing real estate stuff so Paul had the house to himself most of the time. Now supposedly the house he lived in had been raided by he police long before for a drug bust and during that bust one of the police was shot and killed.
Well when we would be having a keg or party or whatever we would do and there was illegal things going on weird things would happen none of which I ever saw. Such as odd spooky noises, ashes flying out of the fireplace that was totally clean and unused for years, and other weird things.
My story starts after one of those mighty parties where we were doing many many things nobody should ever do. The next morning I awoke on the couch to the lovely sound of Paul's older brother vacuuming near my head I got up and we started talking the vacuum still running and stationary. We talked for a few min and then suddenly on the end table a new spool of fishing line that was sitting on the table, flew with great force and a thud onto the floor in front of the vacuum and was spinning like crazy getting sucked up into the vacuum. A few expletives followed from us both and he turned off the vacuum and it stopped of course, but the spool kept spinning like crazy. We just stared and then I grabbed it and stood up. We both looked at each-other did we just see that we saw. I looked at the spool and the plastic was still on it not an inch of line was out or even exposed.
I swear this happened I realize its not really scary or anything but boy oh boy was it weird.
Have a great Now, Korundgen
